The first trailer for Morbius has arrived and there were far fewer surprises than we might have expected. The Sons gave their fans their first look at Jared Leto & # 39; s kinda-vampiric most villain in the new trailer, but it also brought out the fact that the film seems to take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A few important references to Spider-Man and his other enemies give us the impression that when you are in the MCU Morbius it might happen.
The biggest surprise of the trailer comes in its closing seconds when Dr. Michael Morbius, of Leto, who seems to have already broken so bad, comes in to Michael Keaton, who asks if the doctor is tired, "something?"
Ever since Keaton played Adrian Toomes, the original ownership of Vulture, in the Spider-Man: Coming home, we have to think about who you are again here. If that's true, then Morbius it is definitely set in a universe similar to Tom Holland's Spider-Man – and by adding other MCU Avengers.
But the cameo leaves us with fewer questions than this. Like, why are Tooms wearing a lab coat? Did he get out of jail and put his engineer in a good, non-criminal way? And why is he crossing paths with Morbius, he hasn't defended Spider-Man in the past? In comics Morbius has at times been more of an anti-hero than a villain, so perhaps Toomes helped put him on a better path.
One of our biggest clues about how Morbius slips into the mainstream cinematic superhero scene near the middle of the scene, where Michael Morbius goes through a Spider-Man poster with the word "assassin" sounding cheerful to everything – the post seems to have a direct attachment from the promotional art from Marvel & # 39; s. Spider Man PS4 video game, there is something out of the MCU. Based on this, alongside Vieto, we can swear that Morbius happened sometime after the events of Spider-Man: Far from home, which resulted in a webslinger being blamed for the Done Mysterio attack.
If the MCU again Morbius they are far more connected than it means that this movie will happen sooner than any other MCU movie to date, and that Longos and his nail have played some part in the Sony superhero universe. There is always that Morbius it takes place somewhere else, where Spider-Man is and is a wanted criminal, and Vulture looks like Michael Keaton, but Thanos didn't attack Earth … but that's kind of a bit of an extension.
All of these references and references feel very important, given last year's clashes between Sony and Disney over the rights to Spider-Man and his larger gallery. Sony owns the film license on Spider-Man – which is a Marvel character – but the studio has a deal with Disney to make Spider-Man movies together. The compromise allows Spider-Man of Sony to be part of the MCU.
The two forums split briefly last year after failing to contract on contract issues. However after a reported request made by Spider-Man actor Tom Holland, the hosts Sony and Disney agreed on an agreement that kept Spider-Man's universe and MCU connected.
With Morbius, it looks like Sony is starting to pull a strong connection between its superhero superhero and Spider-Man's current fan favorite. At the moment, however, it is unclear whether this connection includes Tom Hardy Venom.
Before the release of the first film, Tony made that statement Venom you couldn't be part of the MCU, but this trailer Morbius looks like it makes the crossover sound like it might. It's worth mentioning that Kevin Feige doesn't appear to be a producer on Morbius, and it's impossible to say that Spider-Man will play a significant role in the movie at all.
Morbius will hit theaters July 31 this summer. The release of the Marvel Cinematic Universe film just before that Black Widow, a prequel that might have involved the main story of the MCU, or Spider-Man.
