Other chapters of Hunter X Hunter Manga could be coming out in the near future, potentially ending a years-long hiatus for the series.
A Twitter account allegedly operated by him hunter x huntr author Yoshihiro Togashi posted a small update on Tuesday: a photo of the corner of a manga page with a phrase that roughly translates to “4 episodes left for now.” The account is brand new so not verified, although the bio claims that it is indeed official and that Togashi will use it to update his progress. One punch man Artist Yusuke Murata says the account is Togashi, and Polygon has reached out to Viz Media, the US publisher of hunter x huntr, for confirmation.
The latest volume of Hunter X Hunter was released in Japan in 2018. Due to frequent and serious health problems, Togashi has often interrupted his work. However, this most recent break was the longest to date.
Togashi began Hunter X Hunter in 1998. The manga and the two anime series based on it are set in a world where licensed professionals called Hunters embark on fantastic adventures, e.g. B. tracking down dangerous monsters, tracking down criminals or hunting for treasure. The series follows a young boy named Gon who takes the Hunter Exam to find his distant father, a legendary Hunter. Along the way, he meets Killua, the runaway heir to an assassin family; Kurapika, the last member of a murdered clan; and Leorio, a medical student.
While Gon’s adventures mostly ended after the wild Chimera Ant arc, the latest manga volumes have revolved around Kurapika. Seeking revenge for his fallen clan – and recovering their stolen eyes – he joins a dangerous expedition to an unknown land and serves as a little princess’ bodyguard. Leorio is also on board the ship serving on the Med Bay, but we don’t see much of him.
In the meantime, the 2011 anime – which runs the bulk of the manga up to this current arc – is available to stream on Crunchyroll and HBO Max.
