MultiVersusSeason 2 adds the “Big Head Mode” to the Silly Queue, which the Super Smash Bros.-like fighter introduced just two weeks ago. It fittingly paves the way for Looney Tunes’ bug-eyed alien – Marvin the Martian – to join the roster of playable fighters in the near future. Warner Bros. Games and Player First announced the increase on Tuesday.
Other highlights of the second season include a game of Thrones Stage that will feature the Iron Throne, a remix of the series’ overture, and “Westeros-based threats,” according to a press release. Who knows what that really means, but let’s hope for Septa Unella and her Bell of Shame.
As for Marvin, a statement Tuesday indicated he will be packing his Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator, the device he planned to use to destroy Earth (because “it’s obstructing my view of Venus”), beginning in the 1948s Haredevil rabbit. Marvin will also summon a spaceship to harass his opponents.
Elsewhere, the Season 2 patch does the following:
- Optimized the introductory tutorial, added voice-over narration and removed some steps.
- Adds to the score counter space jam Phase, although it’s still only available in custom matches or in the lab. What that means is that MultiVersus keeps track of the baskets that fall on the stage target. “Try some tough 3-pointers!” said Player First.
- Adds bounce pads, a proximity mine, and a drumstick that, when thrown at enemies, turns them into chickens for a short time.
The Season 2 Battle Pass is already available, including variants of Tom & Jerry and Reindog. Those who pay to unlock the Premium Tier Battle Pass can also get “Astronaut Velma” (by Scooby Doo) and “Maestro Bugs”, an homage to Bugs’ many command performances of operas such as “The Barber of Seville” and “Kill Da Wabbit.”
