My favorite gaming mouse is the Logitech G Pro Wireless

I equate the quality of esports mice with garish looks, bulky construction, and fancy button configurations. My favorite mouse of the last few years the Logitech G Pro Wireless, is the exact opposite of this aesthetic. It’s simple and unobtrusive. It feels so light that you could excuse yourself thinking it’s just a regular office mouse. But the technology in its tiny frame makes it quick, accurate, and effortless to use.

This is why we think the Logitech G Pro Wireless is one of the best esports and FPS gaming mice out there.

Can you trust a wireless gaming mouse?

If you’re serious about playing first-person shooters or esports titles, playing with a wireless mouse seems like a bad idea. When split-second responses determine critical games, you want no wireless latency to get in the way of your performance.

This concern can be justified if you are used to playing with wireless devices that rely on Bluetooth connections. However, mice like the Logitech G Pro Wireless have Logitech’s Lightspeed technology, which Logitech tests have found can have a faster response time than even wired mice. (We’ll talk about our experiences in the next section.)

While I haven’t run robust lab tests to confirm this claim, I’ve never experienced any delays, bad clicks, or other performance-related glitches. In fact, a wireless mouse solves the biggest problem I routinely have with wired mice: cable dragging.

Regardless of how long the cable of a wired mouse is – or what texture the cable might be made of – the resistance of the cable always bothers me during intense games. There’s nothing worse than missing a quick headshot Overwatch or chasing a fast moving target in. to lose Apex legends because the wire on your mouse has caught on something.

I’m not the only one who prefers and relies on a wireless mouse for the best performance. Prosettings.net, which rounds up the gear used by esports professionals, shows overwhelming support for the Logitech G Pro Wireless. It is one of the most popular mice with esports stars from multiple games like Fourteen days, League of Legends, Overwatch, and Appreciation.

Surprisingly accurate

At first I was skeptical as to whether the small Lightspeed USB dongle that comes with the Logitech G Pro Wireless was powerful enough to track my mouse accurately and quickly. Bluetooth mice were my only previous frame of reference with wireless mice. Could this little dongle really keep up with fast flicks and slow, precise tracking?

The mouse is designed to accurately interpret motion, so it does not attempt to apply motion smoothing, acceleration, or any other filter that could affect accuracy. The datasheet for the Logitech G Pro Wireless states that the mouse’s Hero 25K sensor can track the mouse at over 400 inches per second.

I don’t fully understand the specifics behind the intense work this mouse’s sensor does, but I know what the result is: flawless accuracy. I’ve never had a problem getting my mouse where I wanted it. I have never experienced hiccups when moving, gliding, or taking time out. It always feels like a perfect translation between where I moved my mouse and where the cursor is.

Low weight = less fatigue

I started playing serious esports titles on an older, bulkier Logitech mouse. While this device was perfect for surfing the web and in the office, its heavy weight would tire my arm after long gaming sessions. Especially with more demanding games, even a few grams more weight can affect performance and fatigue.

The Logitech G Pro Wireless weighs a meager 80 grams, and when you pick it up it feels like there’s not much going on with the mouse. In fact, it’s hard to believe that something so small can be so competent, but it is. After a few hours of play, I appreciate its small size.

The weight of the Logitech G Pro Wireless takes some getting used to for those more familiar with heavier mice. As someone who grew up with large devices, I’ve gotten used to sliding a bulkier mouse across my desk. But after a few years with the Logitech G Pro Wireless, I’ve learned to love the responsiveness of a lighter mouse. It’s almost like it’s barely there so I can focus on the game and not my mouse.

Battery life, buttons and DPI

I hardly think about the battery life of the Logitech G Pro Wireless. A full charge takes me 48 hours when the mouse logo lights up. It goes on for 60 hours without a light show. Thanks to the buttons on either side of the mouse, the Logitech G Pro Wireless can be operated with both hands. You can toggle the buttons on or off depending on which hand you’re using a mouse with. It’s not a feature I made use of, but since so many gaming mice appear to be designed for right-handed use, it’s nice to see one that is suitable for everyone.

Speaking of buttons, the DPI switch, which lets you change the speed of the mouse in an instant, is on the bottom of the mouse. When I started playing esports games, I kept hitting my ex-mouse’s DPI switch during the worst of times. With the Logitech G Pro Wireless, I have to turn the mouse upside down to toggle the speed of my mouse, which completely resolved this issue for me.

Are wireless mice good for gaming?

I’m anything but an esports professional, but with the Logitech G Pro Wireless I felt at least as close as my leisure schedule allows. I can understand why so many esports players rely on it.

The best technology is the one that works so well that you don’t even think it’s there. Every time I pick up the Logitech G Pro Wireless to play a few rounds of my favorite esports games, I instantly forget I have it in my hand. This ease allows me to pay more attention to the game and less time spent dangling cables, keys that are easy to hit in an accident, or a battery that could die while playing.
