Netflix releases the first trailer for Yasuke, the new anime from MAPPA

Netflix goes into anime in 2021 and Yasuke is one of the most anticipated projects. The internationally produced anime brings talent from all over the world and on Thursday the streaming service finally released the The first trailer of the show.

The trailer mostly focuses on the background of the show’s title character. Yasuke is a legendary black samurai It’s true in our worldthe show is set elsewhere. The trailer quickly makes it clear that his version of feudal Japan is full of warriors who use both magic and samurai swords. We get a lot of insight into both sword fighting and the magic of the world, as well as some great moments when Yasuke leads his own armies to save Japan from an unknown threat.

The only thing we don’t particularly see in the trailer are mechs who keep teasing the Netflix promotional material as an important part of the show. But there still have to be a few surprises when it actually releases.

Yasuke is created by LeSean Thomas (Black dynamite, the boondocks) and animated by MAPPA, the studio behind it shows how Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on the Titan Final Season. The series stars LaKeith Stanfield (Get out, Atlanta, Sorry to bother you) in the title role is played by Takeshi Koike (Lupine the Third: The woman named Fujiko Mine) and has produced music for the well-known artist and producer Flying Lotus.

Yasuke will debut on Netflix on April 29th.
