Live action from Netflix resident Evil The series will debut worldwide on July 14, the streamer has announced.
Netflix also released three teaser artworks for the show, based on Capcom’s long-running series of horror games.
The clean posters feature a crisp new logo and blood splatters on a bright yellow background. One just shows the logo with blood bubbles on it. One shows a pill with the word “Joy” and what appears to be the Umbrella Corporation logo. Another shows a vial of blood with a label marking it as positive for the T-virus pathogen.
Netflix’s logline for the show reads:
Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker struggles to survive in a world overrun by bloodthirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her New Raccoon City past, her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation, but most importantly, what happened to her sister, Billie.
Jade’s father would of course be Albert Wesker, who is played by Lance Reddick on the show (The cable, determination). Netflix previously confirmed that the show would move between two timelines, one with Jade and Billie as teenagers and one set in a future devastated by the zombie virus. The new series also stars Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nuñez and is written by supernaturalis Andrew Dabb.
