Netflix’s new Tomb Raider animated series will be released in October, the streaming company announced on Saturday. a new trailer for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara CroftThe trailer also gives a taste of what Lara’s new story after the Survivor trilogy will be about: an adventure around the globe in search of a stolen artifact, of course.

According to Netflix’s official synopsis for the animated series, Lara Croft “has left her friends to embark on increasingly dangerous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an eerie personal connection.” On her journey, Lara will “face her true self and decide what kind of hero she wants to become” in Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.

The new series takes place after the events of Shadow of the Tomb Raiderthe final chapter of Crystal Dynamics’ Survivor video game trilogy – and seemingly before the events of Lara Croft’s next Tomb Raider game.

Powerhouse Animation, the studio behind Netflix’s Castlevania And Master of the Universe: Revelationproduced Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. Hayley Atwell (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Captain America: The First Avenger) will lend her voice to Lara Croft in the new series. Atwell will be played by Allen Maldonado (The wonderful years) as Zip and Earl Baylon, who reprises his role as Jonah Maiava from the Tomb Raider video games.

In addition to Netflix’s new animated series, Amazon Developing a live-action Tomb Raider series with the help of the writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Flea bag, Indiana Jones and the Blade of Destiny). The next Tomb Raider video game will be developed at Crystal Dynamics, published by Amazon, and run on Unreal Engine 5.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Premieres on Netflix on October 10th.
