New Funko Fusion trailer shows The Mummy and Nope in action

A new trailer is here Funko Fusion, a game that is looking more and more like a fever dream jumble of giant heads from popular films and series. The game will be released this September. So stay tuned, because the future of our monoculture is getting closer and closer!

In April 2023, the world was introduced Funko FusionN, a third-person action-adventure game featuring Funko Pop characters with large heads and button eyes. The upcoming game is created by some former Lego game developers and will include multiple franchises and intellectual properties owned by Universal. Now, a year after that first look, a new trailer is here, revealing even more intellectual property being put into this bizarre pop culture concoction, including characters from No, Hot Fuzz and The Mummy.

Although we knew about some of the IP included in this game thanks to last year’s first look, this new trailer gives it away The Mummy, Hot Fuzz, Battlestar Galacticaand even 2022 No will be included in the upcoming game.

Between these two teasers and a brief overview of the intellectual property at the end of the new trailer, this appears to be the current list of franchises it’s being pushed into Funko Fusion in an effort to get people excited about a video game starring Funko Pops.

In one Game Informer Preview released April 30thit sounds like the gameplay in Funko Fusion will be similar to what was seen in the last one Lego Star Wars game or in other popular third person games like Fourteen days.

Players can complete missions set in different worlds based on different franchises. Accordingly Game InformerAccording to the preview, not every IP will receive its own extensive, sophisticated campaign. Some are just smaller cameo levels that will be hidden in other worlds. As an example, a small level based on was given Shaun of the Dead that is hidden in a larger world based on The thing.

Funko Fusion is a terrible development Fourteen days‘s IP mixin’

While I know there will be people who will be excited to see some of their favorite characters and franchises Funko FusionI can’t help but feel like this is the case The next terrible step in our journey to conflate all of pop culture into one big, boring gray blob. Say whatever you want Fourteen days And Smash Bros, But at least these games seem to be somewhat respectful of each franchise and allow each character to be themselves.

Funko Fusion, on the other hand, follows the Funko Pop formula and forces all characters and creatures to be nearly identical. They’re all these big-headed creatures with beady eyes and tiny bodies. It seems like the cheapest and saddest way to mix beloved characters together.

If Fourteen days and WBs Multiversus are like scouring the cemeteries and junk heaps of pop culture for content, Funko Fusion is like rummaging through the junkyard behind the company that makes ugly knockoffs of action figures and toys based on popular things. But hey, Funko has sold millions of its figures over the years. So people like it and I expect the upcoming game to be a success too.

Funko Fusion will be released on September 13th for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Yes, it seems so Skip Xbox One.
