It’s been just over seven years since the release of Action role-playing game Nier: Automata took the world by storm and introduced a wider audience to series creator Yoko Taro. Since its launch in 2017 Nier: Automata has remained a constant presence since its inception in 2022 Anime adaptationuntil 2019 Crossover with Final Fantasy XIVand even a 2021 mobile game called Nier reincarnation. But despite all this, there have been no signs of a sequel so far. Fans of the series are getting back on the hype train after Taro seemingly announced a sequel during a stop in London Nier: Orchestra concert tour.
The latest madness about a potential Kidney 3 comes from anecdotes about Taro’s appearance during the Nier Concert in London on February 14th. While he was there, Taro reportedly told the audience that the president of Square Enix was in the crowd and that if the fans “wanted one vending machines Continuing to give the loudest applause of the evening,” says one ResetEra users, “The room immediately erupted in clapping, cheering and shouting.” The post goes on to say that the word “Repent” was shown repeatedly throughout the show and was stylized as R3PENT in its final instance.
While messages from a Nier A sequel would be fantastic, this “tease” is nothing to get excited about. Taro has a reputation for being consistent That’s fun To Square Enix, the fans, and himself, this is probably nothing more than a joke. As for repeating Regret, Taro is known for adding things to new parts Niersuch as rewriting parts of vending machiness story in the anime adaptation, as a treat for fans of the series. The concert itself features new story beats throughout reported by fans who were there. It’s also not the first time Taro’s offhand or joking comments have led fans to believe he’s “teasing” a sequel. During the G-STAR 2023 event in South Korea last November, Dragongard And Nier Producer Yosuke Saito appeared alongside Taro and said that the two will continue to release new entries in the Nier series while Taro is still alive. How Nier Concert “tease”, a lot of it is just talk and hope and not a sign that Square Enix has greenlit a sequel.
