Today, Nintendo Co Ltd. proclaim that it will run out of the original Nintendo Wii repair service.
The console was launched in Japan on December 2, 2006 and continues to sell over 100 units worldwide, making it one of the most successful consoles ever.
After March 31, Nintendo will no longer accept the first Wi-gen, the RVL-001 number, for repair in Japan. Nintendo said that there are no more Wii-related parts so working on consoles has become harder. Whether this announcement will affect other regions is unknown. Kotaku contact US spokesman Nintendo for clarification.
The announcement specifically states that this notification deals with RVL-001 (all color variations). The RVL-101 model was introduced in 2011, and the Wii Mini, the RVL-201 model, was sold in 2017.
