Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan should be open nowBut you know something happened. It’s almost there, however, and even if neither of us is likely to travel there anytime soon, at least we can press our disgusting faces against the glass and admire it from afar.
The park, which will now open next spring, looks like a dream come true. A photo posted by The Sankei News The past month shows that things are pretty much closed, at least outwardly. Guests enter the park through the area at the bottom left of the photo (Peach’s Castle, more clearly visible in another photo) and will be in a room that occupies some of the most iconic Mario Places to think of, from toad houses to general platform steps to ice cream.
There are coin blocks everywhere –for a reason– and the back of the park is dominated by the Mario kart Drive and a huge display of Bowser’s Castle, complete with N64 style igamesnewsal style.
While it all looks incredible, of course, for me at least it’s wildest how close it all comes to the original concept art. I mean, take a look at this picture below and compare it to the final construction above; They were able to do pretty much anything, in some cases – like the flagpole section to the right – even better, as the actual one seems to tower even higher than the art.

Imagine standing near the floor where none of these scaffolding holes are visible and you are only surrounded by something Mario stuff. It will be so good.
All of this is a very positive sign for that other Super Nintendo Land being built in Los Angeles which started construction last month. Perfect for those who either don’t want to travel to Japan or are just more patient.
