Last week’s comprehensive update too Nobody’s heaven brought a lot of changes. Some made the game much more malleable and accessible, while others, such as B. Optimizations to inventory mechanics have been the subject of controversy within the community. Seemingly in response to the backlash, Hello Games appears to be making some adjustments to how inventory works in the experimental PC build of the game.
Nobody’s heaven‘s Waypoint update brought a sudden change to the game’s inventory system. Of course, the term “inventory gate‘ emerged as a reaction. The result was the usual onslaught of memes, check bombs, da locked reddit threads
However, an experimental update may not be enough to quell the frustration that many have expressed. Steam reviews alone have recently taken on a trend towards a “mixed” status, with many specifically highlighting the inventory changes. “The last update essentially erased dozens of grinding hours,” read a Steam review. “With the new 4.0 update, my holdings are unrecognizable and after all the time I’ve spent on it, everything seems useless,” reads another
However, the backlash was not universal. While many “complain that they’ve worked 100+ hours on upgrades that are now functionally useless,” like A Reddit thread sums it upothers have found the optimizations and limitations Bring more balance and challenge to the game. However, the negative reactions seem to be the loudest, and it’s uncertain if these influenced Hello Games’ decision to expand slots in the experimental build.
That experimental build patch notes Note on Steam that Hello Games has added “additional free technology slots” for both players new to the Waypoint version and for people who already have existing saves. You can access it Nobody’s heaven
The changes are clearly visible on a brand new save I created for testing. As expected, the game’s regular stable build only offers three possible technology slots at the top. However, updating to the experimental build doubles the slots on the top row. Further updates to the beta branch since October 10th also fix other issues many had with unlocking inventory slots and navigating the menu overall.
Although these changes have yet to be merged Nobody’s heaven‘s stable build, there’s no indication yet as to when or if these will be made permanent. my box asked Hello Games for a comment.
