Jordan Peele loves to keep his films mysterious, but the latest trailer for nope finally gives us some information on what his new movie is actually about. The trailer was released on Thursday and has its stars, including Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun, gazing at the sky in hopes of unraveling a universal mystery. nope It’s slated to hit theaters on July 22nd.
Based on the trailer, Kaluuya and Palmer appear to be ranchers and Hollywood animal trainers who are always up for a good run. When the two think they’ve seen something strange and maybe even alien in the clouds, they see the perfect opportunity to sell some footage of California’s newest UFO. But it seems everything they’ve seen in the sky doesn’t really want to be filmed.
nope is Peele’s first film since 2019 Usand the director’s third film overall. Alongside Kaluuya, Yeun and Palmer nope will also be Michael Wincott (Basquiat), Brandon Perea (The OA), Wren Smith (For all mankind), Barbie Ferreira (euphoria), KeithDavid (the thing) and Terry Notary, a gymnast and frequent motion capture performer.
