As you’ve no doubt heard by now, Reddit management recently introduced changes that have resulted in rule and moderation changes across many subreddits. Because of these changes, we no longer feel that Reddit is an appropriate place to post official content or make our players aware of it.
We’d like to thank you for all of the feedback and discussions you’ve participated in in previous changelog threads. You are of course welcome to post unofficial update threads in the future. If you would like to provide feedback on the game to the team, please visit our feedback page at feedback.minecraft.net or contact us on any of our official social media channels.
We’re just a few years away from companies shutting down their own internal support and moving their forums to places like Reddit and, less useful Discord. Seeing that they already need to start bringing these things back in-house is as sure a sign as ever the “enshittingification” of platforms like Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitch are now in full swing, and as useful as their reach has been for people (as well as games and businesses) over the years, they’re all collapsing under the weight of their own greed shows that the only sites and forums you can ever rely on are your own.
