The selection of games coming to PS Plus at the end of May isn’t particularly impressive, apart from one: Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar Games’ open-world Western is returning to the subscription service after a nearly two-year hiatus. Will you make it this time?
There’s a good chance many of you already own it Red Dead Redemption 2 it has sold over 60 million copies since its release in 2018. But just in case you don’t, now’s your chance to finally play, and maybe even finish, one of the PlayStation 4’s best games (A native PS5 version somehow still hasn’t been released). The pace, cinematography, and expansive simulation of turn-of-the-century American life make it overwhelming, unrelenting, and irresistible.
I like how it used to be My city Editor-in-Chief Kirk Hamilton included it in his review:
…a pulse pulsates through this techno-artistic marvel. This game has heart; the kind of heart that is elusive but impossible to deny. It’s a wonderful story about terrible people and a vivid, deeply sad tribute to nature itself. There’s so much beauty and joy in this expensive, strenuous thing. Somehow that makes it even more perfect – a breathtaking paean to a ruined world, created by, about and for a society that ruined it.
There are only 50 hours to complete if you mainline the main campaign. But if you stay and have as much fun as you want in the brutal prairie landscapes and mountain ranges, it can last nearly 200 hours. The last time the game appeared on PS Plus, it lasted for four months. Enough time, right?
What’s coming to PS Plus in May 2024?

Why is Horizon Zero Dawn Quit PS Plus?
Finally, a number of games are leaving the PS Plus subscription library this month, most notably Guerrilla Games’ sci-fi open-world schnitzelfest. Horizon Zero Dawn. If you haven’t completed Aloy’s first Dino-Bot hunting adventure yet, you’ll need to purchase it starting May 21st.
Given that Horizon Zero Dawn is a first-party game from Sony and has to be played if you want to get started Horizon Forbidden West and its Burning Shores expansion, you’d think the company would want to keep it. A possible reason for the elimination could be that Sony is working on a PS5 remaster of the role-playing game. That would be surprising considering there is already one Great free 60fps upgrade for the gamebut stranger things have happened.
