Ubisoft says Star Wars Outlaws is the first open-world video game based on the popular sci-fi franchise. But it also offers another first: In a new trailer for Outlaws which debuted at Ubisoft Forward 2024we see our first canonical example of a video game in the universe in War of stars.
Star Wars Outlaws was first shown by Ubisoft in 2023. The open-world action game with the villain Kay Vess and her sexy robot friend ND-5 as they try to assemble a crew for a major heist while simultaneously evading the Empire and working with criminal syndicates to earn a few credits. The game takes place between The Empire Strikes Back And The Return of the Jedi, in a time when the Galactic Empire is at its strongest and most widespread. But who cares about all that? What I want to discuss is the big reveal that there are arcade games in the war of stars Universe.
The history of video games in Star Wars
It is strange to think about it, but although there are hundreds of war of stars Although various games have been released over the past few decades, there has never been a canonical representation of a video game in the universe itself.
