Over 5,000 Final Fantasy XIV players have been banned from using or promoting real money trading

Square Enix announced earlier this week that over 5,000 Final Fantasy XIV Players were banned after getting caught in the game with real money or advertising.

As discovered by PCGamesN, on March 4th FFXIV Verlag Square Enix revealed over a news item on the FFXIV

website that 5851 players were banned for participating in real money trading or otherwise “prohibited activities. ” 5037 players were banned from direct participation in real money trading. In the meantime, another 814 players have been banned for simply promoting real money trading.

According to Square Enix Using in-game real money for trades or other activities is prohibited in the Terms of Service, which players agree to prior to creating an account. Even advertising or just to attempt

Using real money is bad enough this Square Enix will bring the banhammer down. These bans all occurred between February 25th and March 3rd.

This isn’t the first time Square Enix has unveiled a massive wave of account bans. Back in 2019, The publisher has banned over 10,000 players for Similar real money trading violations.
