Blizzard’s decision to completely replace Quick Play was met with strong feedback from fans since it is a popular mode for so many Overwatch 2 Player. Quick Play lets them try out new strategies, practice new heroes, and hone their skills without feeling the pressure of competitive mode. Personally, I never play it because I’m a masochist and like to try (and fail) to improve my rank every time I start the game. However, removing Quick Play entirely means depriving a core portion of your player base of their only way to play a game. Blizzard seems to have expected a backlash, as the blog post asks and answers the question of whether Quick Play: Hacked should not be included in Arcade Mode.
Arcade is intended for game modes that typically only play a specific type of map (like Assault) or completely different ways to play Overwatch. The Quick Play: Hacked changes impact the core gameplay of our main mode, while still aiming to create a more balanced gaming experience that differs from the traditional ruleset.
