Former Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan may have left Blizzard Entertainment, but his legacy – especially a sucker about his name – will live on Overwatch 2. During a gameplay livestream from Overwatch 2 On Thursday, new game director Aaron Kaplan, lead hero designer Geoff Goodman, and associate art director Dion Rogers showed the hero shooter multiple maps, including New York, Toronto, Rome and Monte Carlo.

OverwatchThe New York menu will feature not one but two tributes to Kaplan – he received his master from NYU, by the way – including a rather bleak-looking pizza place called Jeph’s Corner Pizza.

And lest you argue that this is clearly a tribute to someone named “Jeph” and not Jeff on the Overwatch team, here’s more evidence of the ode of the blizzard to Kaplan: a coffee cup on a local train.

This coffee mug is, of course, a reference to the time when Jeff Kaplan ordered a coffee without coffee at Starbucks on the Blizzard Entertainment campus in Irvine, California to get a mug labeled “Jeph”. This is Jeremy Craig, former lead designer for Overwatchwith the evidence.

Overwatch 2 and Jeph / Jephs / Jeff’s Easter eggs come at an unconfirmed time.
