People have been playing games for a very long time. And a moment after people started selling these things, other people started stealing them. As a result, developers continued to add features that trigger pirates. For example, getting drunk in a game about flying helicopters.
This can be seen in a new video from The Easter Egg Hunterwhere he covers a couple of games that have some silly, weird, and annoying problems that only pirates will encounter. (Or if you are unlucky and your game bugs out and it thinks you stole it.)
What is very funny to me and mentioned in the video is that some of these bugs are reported on forums. Players shared stories about how Batman wouldn’t slide around and instead fluttered like a chicken trying to fly. And the developers and other players came by and said, “So … you stole this game, right?”
As someone who pirated games when I was young and had no money, I have a desire to play new games even if you cannot afford it. But I also think it’s only fair for developers to have fun at the expense of the people who steal from them.
