SIE Bend Studio, creators of the 1999s siphon filter for play station, said Thursday that their seminal third-person shooter will receive trophy support when it relaunches on modern consoles via the new PlayStation Plus subscription service later in June.
Incidentally, the note shared on Twitter means it’s likely other PSOne classics will also have trophy support. In fact, Sony was Interactive Entertainment received a patent in March 2021 for a software system that uses emulation to detect triggering events and award trophies to players on modern consoles.

siphon filter belongs to the library of PlayStation original games that will be available to subscribers of the highest Premium tier of the PlayStation Plus service, which will be available on May 24th in Asia, June 2nd in Japan, June 13th in Americas as well as in Europe and Australia, and New Zealand on June 23. Other classics for PS Plus Premium subscribers are the Jak and Daxter series, sirenthe Dark Cloud games and even some third party remasters of PS3 games such as BioShock.
The new PlayStation Plus is effectively a combination of SIE’s existing PlayStation Now game streaming/download subscription service and the PS Plus subscription, which has been required for online multiplayer since the launch of the PlayStation 4. Players can continue their existing PS Plus tier, now called “PS Plus Essential,” for the same monthly ($9.99), quarterly ($24.99), or annual ($59.99) amount.
PlayStation Plus Extra gives subscribers access to a catalog of 400 PlayStation 4 and PS5 games for $14.99 / $39.99 / $99.99. PlayStation Plus Premium (Deluxe in some markets) adds another 340 games from the PlayStation 3, PSOne and PlayStation Portable catalogues, with the option to play them via streaming – but so far no PlayStation 2 games running under emulation are listed in service.
