Pokémon Go is hosting a Bounsweet Community Day event Sunday, May 19, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. your local time.
As expected at a Community Day event, Bounsweet will appear in large numbers and will most likely look shiny. There are also some other bonuses and perks that we list below.
How do I catch a shiny Bounsweet?
According to old research from the now-defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback machine), Shiny rates on Community Days are around 1 in 24, meaning that if you keep playing during the three-hour window, you should find quite a few Shiny Pokémon.
If you’re short on time or Poké Balls, you can get one incensethen quickly Tap each Bounsweet to look for shiny ones and run away from anything that isn’t shiny. In particular, any Bounsweets you’ve already tapped will appear where your player is standing, making it easier to see which Bounsweets you may have already checked.
What step for Community Day does the development of Bounsweet learn?
If you evolve Steenee into Tsareena between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. your local time, it will learn the charged move High jump kick.
If you fail to evolve it during this period, you can probably evolve it during a Community Day weekend event in December to get High Jump Kick. If you don’t want to wait, you can do the move with an Elite TM.
How does Tsareena perform in the meta?
In PvE (Raids and Arenas), Tsareena is behind the usual powerful attackers like Kartana and most Shadow and Mega starters (Mega Sceptile, Mega Venusaur, Shadow Venusaur, Shadow Torterra – you get the gist). However, in terms of performance, it falls between Roserade and Chesnaught. So if you normally use these two and don’t have the resources to invest in Megas, Legendaries and Shadows, then Tsareena is worth having Magic leaf And Grass knot.
While High Jump Kick gives Tsareena some reach in PvP, it’s probably still not worth using outside of special cups and tournaments.
How do I make the most of Bounsweet Community Day?
The following bonuses will be active during Bounsweet Community Day:
- 1⁄4 Hatching distance for eggs laid in incubators during the event
- Double candies for catching Pokémon
- Double chance for trainers level 31 and above to receive XL Candies by catching Pokémon
- Incense sticks last three hours
- Lure Modules last three hours
- There are special photobombs when taking snapshots
- An additional special trade
- Stardust trading costs have been halved
That said, you should definitely place your eggs in incubators, light an incense stick, and try to get your hands on some strong Bounsweet.
If you can Mega development Venusaur, Sceptile, Groudon or AbomasnowYou will receive additional Bounsweet Candy per catch.
Additionally, Niantic is still running special four-star raids from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. When you complete the Steenee Raid, Bounsweet will appear within a 300 meter radius of the gym for 30 minutes. These raids cannot be carried out remotely. If the usual 2-5pm spawn increase doesn’t produce the desired bounsweet, you can try again with a raid.
