This year’s Pokémon Go Fest will be virtual, but developers Niantic and The Pokémon Company are also hosting a series of real, in-person celebrations in more than 20 cities around the world on July 17, the first day of Go Fest. Players from the US, parts of Europe and New Zealand can participate.
In one (n Announcement on Thursday, Niantic assured players that the Pokémon Go Fest experience will be the same for everyone around the world, whether or not they attend a city-based event. A face-to-face meeting has the obvious advantage of being able to trade Pokémon with others nearby, but don’t expect a major event comparable to previous celebrations at the Pokémon Go Festival or in the Safari Zone.
The real-life Pokémon Go Fest celebrations are scheduled for Saturday, July 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. No events are planned for Sunday July 18th, the second day of Go Fest, which is all about legendary raids. Here is the list of participating cities:

To participate in the events, Pokémon Go Players must register in advance either on the web or in-game via the events menu. Registration is free but limited and on a first-come-first-served basis. A ticket for the Pokémon Go Fest 2021 does not guarantee entry.
