So it’s winter vacation time Pokémon Go hosts its annual event to celebrate December 22nd to 31st.
As usual, special Pokémon appear in winter outfits, such as Pikachu in hat and sweater, Cubchoo and Delibird with bows and even the original Stantler sleigh bell. All four of these special Holiday Pokémon are shiny.
In addition to the creatures outfitted on vacation, Water and Ice-type Pokémon like Spheal, Piplup, Marill, and Snover have improved spawn rates. Vanillite, the ice-cream Pokémon, is also making its Pokémon Go debut with this event. So be sure to use pinap berries when you catch it.
The bread and butter of this event are the bonuses that are exchanged every two days. Each bonus starts at 12 p.m. and ends at 11:59 p.m. the following day in your local time. Here is a schedule of what bonuses to expect and when:
- December 22-23: Double raid XP
- December 24th to 25th: Double sweets
- December 26th to 27th: Double the duration of the star piece
- December 28th to 29th: Double the duration of the lucky egg
- December 30th to 31st: Double catch of Stardust
There is also a special set of field research assignments that you can get by spinning Poké stops throughout the event period.
