Pokémon Go is hosting another event that will increase the spawn rates of Pokémon from the Unova region from January 5 at 10:00 a.m. to January 10 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
During the event period, Pokémon such as Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Blitzle, Lillipup, and other Unovan Pokémon have increased spawn rates. Unovan Pokémon also hatch from five-kilometer-long eggs won during the event period.
Snivy, Unova’s grassy starter Pokémon, is also making its first appearance in Shiny. (We don’t know what this means for future Community Days, as Starter Pokémon usually debut their shiny forms during these.)
Consider sticking to Shiny Snivy or other strong Unovan starters as they are very likely to have a Community Day across the board. Community Days for Starter Pokémon usually teach their strongest move if they are developed during the event. So it pays off not to get your starters into their final shape until then.
There’s also a handful of field research that will help you find the Unovan starters and some stardust reward.
