Pokémon Gold And Silver turns 25 this month. The Game Boy Color role-playing games brought fans to the Johto region, introduced 100 new monsters, and are widely considered some of the best games in the series’ long history. To commemorate the anniversary, The Pokémon Company is launching a new line of merchandise featuring Pokémon and art from the games, and the collection includes some seriously enticing things.

Some of the merchandise is game-neutral, while some items are designed to highlight characters and color schemes for both Gold or Silver. Highlights include plushies of game mascots Ho-Oh and Lugia, jackets with a reversible interior design of the Johto region map, and a trash can with the Japanese in-game message you get when you examine trash cans, which roughly translates to “No , there is.” “There is only rubbish here” is printed on it.

The line is currently only available through the Japanese Pokémon Center Website that always seems to offer the best. However, they will undoubtedly end up on reseller or import sites shortly after the product launch on November 21st. For now, you can click through to see all the merchandise that will be available next week.

The easiest way to play these days Gold And Silver takes place via the 3DS ports released in 2017. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that Nintendo will release the old ones one day Pokémon releasing games on Switch and then making a concerted effort to keep those games accessible in the future, but the company’s lack of care in this regard is well documented.

Since it is the 25th anniversary Gold And Silverthat means it’s also the 15th anniversary of the Nintendo DS remakes Pokémon HeartGold And SoulSilverwhich was released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original games in 2009. These remakes are probably still the game I would put at the top of a main series ranking Pokémon Games…oh, wait. I did that!
