A leaker caught it Pokemon scarlet and violet two weeks before the official street date. So of course they upload screenshots online before the games actually start. At the moment, the images are all over Twitter and Reddit. So you might as well read about them at my box first right?

All screenshots are from the Spanish version of the game and seem to be out a single person. Unfortunately they deleted her account at this point my box tries to verify them. But the genie is out of the bottle, so let’s see what there is to see. Of course, if you’d rather not look at it scarlet and violet two weeks before publication, stop reading here.

A spoiler bar has a crossed out eye.

First up we have the (probably) first development of the new fire starter, Fuecoco. Crocalor looks similar to its pre-evolution except that it wears a wide-brimmed hat. Honestly, this one looks kinda medium sized. Except for the hat, it doesn’t look that different from Fuecoco. Whoa, I say. If at 16 or 18 I don’t get even a bit of managerial regret for evolving my starter, what are the designers even doing? Let’s hope that the grass-type Srigatito and the water-type Quaxly develop into mega-freaks.

New Pokemon like Flamigo and Tarountula have also been leaked. Presumably, Flamigo is an amalgamation of flamingo and “amigo,” and Tarountula is… a round tarantula. I also see Ralts and Buizel in the party, which means we’re likely to get mixed generations of Pokemon in those games. players were really upset if the sword and Sign The producer announced that not all Pokémon would be included in the national index. It’s likely, that scarlet and violet will also not contain the entire national index.

At least Smoliv gets a cute evolution to Dolliv. Its thin green body reminds me a bit of the Roselia evolution line, right down to the social anxiety that Smoliv and Budew seem to share. Fans have also tweeted about region-specific Tauros. (Again, this is something we can’t verify yet, so take it with caution.)

Vivillon is also back with a fancy patterned wing variation. This Bug Pokémon had 20 different variations in X and Y, depending on the geographic location of the 3DS. To catch them all you had to trade with friends around the world. It seems likely that this mechanic will make a comeback for the Switch generation.

One of the leaked reposting accounts also featured an in-game movie that prominently features two Parakeet Pokémon scarlet and violet.

Pokemon scarlet and violet will be released (officially) for Nintendo Switch on November 18th.
