The Pokémon World Championships are back in person this year, and those who can’t travel to London can catch the action online. The championships begin Thursday, August 18 at 9:00 am BST/4:00 am EDT and will run through Sunday, August 21. The action will be streamed on Twitch, so fans can tune in regardless of where they live.
The tournament will host competitions for Pokémon sword and Sign and fighting game Pokemon Tekken DX. There will also be a competition this year Pokemon Go
Players compete for over a million dollars in various cash prizes. The tournament returns in person after a pandemic-related hiatus. This is the first time many players have come out and officially entered a global tournament since certain competitions were suspended.
