Sony Interactive Entertainment says it plans to reveal new details about PlayStation 5 on Wednesday, March 18 at 9 a.m. PT. The company will do that through its PlayStation Blog.
PS5 Lead Program Designer Mark Cerny will "provide a deep dive into the design of the PS5 system, and how it will shape the future of games" on Wednesday, Said Tony. PlayStation fans can watch the reveal via the PlayStation Blog.
The formal revelation of new details on the PS5 comes shortly after Microsoft unveiled more technical details on the upcoming Xbox Series X.
The first details of the PlayStation 5 were announced in April 2019, when Cerny launched the next-gen con & # 39; s Wired browser. The PS5 will be powered by a CPU based on AMD Ryzen's third-generation processor and GPU based on AMD's RDONON Navi, which will support faster ray tracking and up to 8K resolutions. The PS5 will come with a solid state-of-the-art drive, support PlayStation 4 games with backwards compatibility, and work with PlayStation VR.
Sony later confirmed the release window for the PS5: the holidays by 2020.
Since then, Tony has been very quiet about its next plans. At CES 2020, the company took what it revealed to the PS5 and showed the next gensole logo, which looked strangely familiar. And some third-party developers have started announcing PlayStation 5 games, including God is from Counterplay Games and Gearbox Publishing.
Although there are some plans for Sony to launch the PS5 this year, the company is lamenting the release of the second annual E3 games in a row. Instead, Tony said he plans to participate in "consumer events around the world" this year, but it's unclear how many of those incidents will focus on Sony's next Play-gener or how the global coronavirus epidemic will affect the maker's plans.
