“The Missing Owner“is a side quest that you should not ignore The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. If you are strolling around the town of Gerudo after completing the Riju of Gerudo Town main quest, local people will appear on the street asking for help.
The Missing Owner in particular is quite a complicated quest as you are tasked with defeating a Molduga to rescue an NPC. Still, the rewards are worth the time – the Molduga has great materials to use in fuse combos, and completing the quest gives you a chance to craft the Scimitar of the Seven, arguably one of the best weapons in the game.
If you’re looking for tips on how to defeat the Molduga or just want to know how to get started, below are the steps to The Missing Owner quest.
Quest steps “The Missing Owner”.
There are two main parts The Missing Owner – The first one sees you chatting with Carawho is in the jewelry store in the town of Gerudo, and the second is to rescue Isha from the Molduga in the Toruma Dunes.
How to start The Missing Owner quest.
After you finish the Lightning Temple, new quests will be available in the town of Gerudo. When you enter the jewelry store at the coordinates (-3831, -2879, 0044), you will find Cara. The character attempts to locate Isha, the owner who was last seen in Toruma Dunes.
Before you go in search of the shopkeeper, Cara warns you that the area is known as the shopkeeper’s home Molduga – a huge creature that swims under the sand and quickly starts a chase when approached.
Like any enemy, the Molduga has a special weakness that you can exploit as part of your battle strategy.
Find Isha
As previously mentioned, Isha is stranded in the Toruma Dunes. The point is near the coordinates (-4765, -2828, 0029.)
You can see it from afar: Isha is standing on a rock next to a campfire that is making a smoke signal.
Now you can either talk to Isha first, and then get to Molduga, or vice versa. Either way, as soon as you get close to him, Molduga will start chasing you.
How to save Isha
Isha is being pursued by a Molduga. Despite being safe where she is standing, she cannot return to the store until the miniboss is defeated. If you need to prepare beforehand, you can also go somewhere else and come back later.
Molduga is a sneaky miniboss Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The creature spends most of its time under sand, circling around until something — or someone — catches its attention. It then quickly moves toward its target and attempts to eat it, providing a window for a counterattack.
As frightening as it may sound, this is also the key strategy of the encounter. To hit Molduga, you must have the perfect bait for it. A step-by-step guide on how to defeat Molduga is available on our dedicated page.
Once the Molduga encounter is resolved, Isha will automatically initiate a convo to thank Link. Then she returns, and so should you – after taking some really hefty monster parts from the mini-boss.
Go back to Cara
Return to the jewelry store in Gerudo town and talk to Cara. She will also express her thanks and the search is over.
The reward for the missing owner
Cara will give you a diamond for your troubles. This will come in handy as you will be offered a second quest called Pride of Gerudo afterwards. For this, you can exchange 10 flints, 4 diamonds, and both a Gerudo Scimitar and a Gerudo Shield for the Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker Shield.
Also, you will get some rewards for Molduga fight. For example, I have Molduga Guts (1 Fuse Attack Power, good for recipes), Molduga Fin (12 Fuse Attack Power), Molduga Jaws (32 Fuse Attack Power), and both a Gerudo Bow and a Royal Broadsword from the chests. As usual, remember that the latter two are random!
