Koei Tecmo’s Monster Rancher series of life simulation RPGs used to be a big deal. It was undeniably cool for its mechanic, which created monsters based on CDs that players loaded into their PlayStation while the game was stored in memory. After the 1997 original debuted on PlayStation, more than 10 Monster Rancher sequels and spin-offs have been released across various Nintendo and PlayStation platforms. With the exception of Monster Ranchers 1 & 2 DX
But thanks to Ultraman and Bandai Namco, Monster Rancher is alive again; A new game in which players raise, breed and battle Kaiju, made famous by battling Ultraman, is coming to Nintendo Switch.
This game, which is currently only confirmed for release in Japan, is titled Ultra Kaiju Monster Farm. (Monster Rancher is known as Monster Farm in his home country.) Koei Tecmo and Nintendo revealed Ultra Kaiju Monster Farm
Ultra Kaiju Monster Farm will allow players to breed and even crossbreed Ultraman villains like Zetton, Gomora, Dada, Kanegon, Alien Baltan, Birdon, King Joe, Eleking and Golza. (The game’s reveal trailer features a new monster that combines the looks of Zetton and Gomora.) Players will feed, train, and adventure their kaiju buddy, teaching them new skills such as you will).
Players can then bring their kaiju into battle and compete against other kaiju. Like the original monster rancher, players generate Ultra Kaiju from songs using an in-game tool. Switch owners can also generate their monsters from NFC cards.
Ultra Kaiju Monster Farm It seems unlikely to make it to the US, but given Ultraman’s wider global reach, thanks to a new live-action film, a Marvel Comics series, and an ongoing Netflix series, we’re keeping our fingers crossed and the Poor.
