Of all of the great games that have hit PC in the past few years, I believe none took more of the old DLSS magic than Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2.
I got a new PC last year and of course one of the first things I did was play any games that I either missed or had to play on my old computer on lower settings. control? Nice! Assassin’s Creed Odyssey? Great! Death stranding? Gorgeous! Red Redemption 2? Ran like shit!
However, now that the game has DLSS support, it runs much better. In 2020 I haveoriginally oscillated between playback at lower settings in 4K and highest settings in 2K, but the gamee now runs smoothly in 4K and with a little more sharpness for things like leaves on top of that. Have my FPS away from 45ish in 4K to about 60 on my 2080 great that is a enormously Difference at a nice key visual threshold, and gave me very serious consideration another playthrough of the game.
The update is already released, so the next time you start the game you should find DLSS Settings in the menu. And if you want to check out Nvidia’s estimates of the expected frame rate improvements, go here:
