Colin Farrell is returning to his role as The Penguin before his first appearance even hit theaters. The actor is set to return to the Batman villain for an HBO Max spin-off series The Batman that Farrell, according to a. will star and perform Report of diversity
The series will reportedly explore the origins of the penguin and how he rose in the Gotham City underworld to become one of the strangest and most feared criminals. Lauren LeFranc (SHIELD agents) will write for the series while The Batman Director Matt Reeves and producer Dylan Clark will both serve as executive producers on the streaming project.

This new Penguin series isn’t the only HBO Max spin-off from The Batman. HBO Max previously announced another spinoff series from Reeves that will focus on Gotham City Police. This show is designed to investigate the corruption of Gotham’s police and city officials.
