Resident Evil Village will be released worldwide on May 7, announced Capcom on Thursday during its Resident Evil Showcase video presentation. In addition to the previously announced versions for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X, Capcom confirmed that the survival horror game is also available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. All versions are released on the same day.
Capcom says the PS4 version of resident Evil Village can be upgraded to the PS5 version for free, and Xbox One owners can access the Xbox Series X version through Microsoft’s Smart Delivery program.
Resident Evil Village receives two premium editions: a digital deluxe edition with additional content and a physical collector’s edition. The digital deluxe edition will contain what Capcom calls the Trauma Package Resident Evil 7 Biohazard-Inspired cosmetics: a tape recorder storage device, music for safe rooms, the Albert 01 pistol, and a visual filter called “Found Footage” The physical collector’s edition includes an art book, poster, Chris Redfield figure and a SteelBook sleeve.
Capcom will sell too Village bundled with its predecessor, Resident Evil 7in a digital double pack.
Resident Evil Village was announced during Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal event in June. Village will be a direct continuation of RE7with the game’s protagonist, Ethan Winters, and his first-person perspective.
