Played as the burnt child murderer with a razor mitt who hunts children in their sleep to kill them Robert Englund in eight films and a television series. And while many may wish he would return to the role after the lackluster 2010 reboot, Englund says that’s not the case.

In a new interview with Fucking disgustingThe 77-year-old horror star was asked if he had “another one.” Nightmare on Elm Street film in him. His answer was blunt but honest: “I don’t. I literally don’t.”

Englund went on to explain that he was “too old” to be Freddy Krueger again in a live-action sequel. However, he said he would be open to a “gimmick” cameo and suggested a role he could play in a theoretical remake Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors.

“I would like to be invited when they reboot part 3, dream warriorwhich I think is the most popular film in the series,” Englund said Fucking disgusting.

“It would be fun to play one of the doctors. The great Priscilla Pointer, Amy Irving’s mother, appeared in this film. Maybe I could play her role as a male doctor, that’s very cynical. A quick wink to the audience that I can’t believe there is this dream demon that everyone has the same dream about. It’s in the tradition of remakes, especially horror films, to give an actor who was in the original a little cameo, so I think that would be fun.”

He also suggested that he could do the voice work again in a “high-end animated version” of Freddy A Nightmare on Elm StreetHe said it would be “nice” if they asked him to do it. However, he reiterated that he was simply too old to play Freddy again in a live-action film.

“I know I can’t do the fight scenes [for] more than one shot, one angle,” Englund said. “I just can’t snap my head or anything like that. I’m an old dog! Give me a break!”
