Owlcat Games continues its work Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, this time with a patch aimed at fixing some annoying issues. Patch 1.0.88 includes a variety of changes, including the overall simplification of skill checks. The next major patch will be released sometime in January 2024.
Patch 1.0.88 also fixed “a large majority of broken quests and cutscenes that blocked progression or only worked with certain choices,” made sweeping changes to items and abilities, improved optimization, and tweaked companion quests and answers. These include fixes to system stability, co-op desync, broken narrative quests, weapon damage, and a particularly tricky ladder that served as a one-way route for space wolf companion Ulfar.
Skill checks are also easier overall, which is useful for players who rely on Lore, Persuasion, or Medicae checks in their playthroughs. The huge RPG campaign still has some bugs and technical issues that make progress difficult: I was dismayed when I romanced Heinrix van Calox and discovered that our affair involved him in a “sex mode” in which I None of this could equip his equipment or use him in battle. I had to break up with the Inquisition agent to restore his fighting strength.
Regardless of this ongoing issue, it’s good to see Owlcat Games continuing to polish things up.
