Although there are currently 13 cases reported coronavirus in Washington State, as well as two deaths, Emerald City Comic-Con organizers have promised to continue the show, which should be held March 12 to 15 at the Washington State Convention Center.
In a statement released earlier today, Reedpop, the company responsible for organizing the show (and may others around the world, from PAX to New York Comic Con), said:
Emerald City Comic Con wants to voice our concerns about everyone affected by the COVID-19 virus in Washington State and around the world. We are looking into this situation as organs of State take proactive steps to ensure health and safety and prepare and respond to the COVID-19 virus in the State. As always, the well-being of our worldwide ReedPOP community, from attendees and spectators to our site staff at every event, is critical to ReedPOP and we are proud to create a great place to celebrate comedy. pop culture.
ECCC 2020 will take place as scheduled for March 12th -15th at the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) in downtown Seattle. We have implemented improved cleaning and hygiene throughout the show, including following the recommendations set out by the EPA's Eathole Pathogen for cleaning efficacious anti-COVID19 vacuum cleaners. We work closely with WSCC and other local partners and comply with local, state and federal funding guidelines. As the ECCC approaches we will be constantly reviewing our health protection services, public health messages, hygiene practices and health controls with a view to strengthening our COVID-19 response in line with timely public health advice and guidance, including the CDC.
Governor, Jay Inslee, announced a state of emergency in Washington on Saturday, in one of the most pervasive situations in the state involving a high school boy who could interact with previously recorded patients, he revealed that the virus has been transmitted locally to your area, meaning they have actually been found unaccompanied and have never directly contacted one of these already labeled patients.
Last year's Emerald City Comic-Con last year had about 100,000 readers, attracting visitors not only locally but nationally as well as internationally.
Last week we saw everything from GDC in order The annual EVE Online fan meeting in order Overwatch League Games canceled or postponed as security measures, while companies like Sony released on display at PAX East.
