For most gamers looking for the best prices on games they missed out on over the year, video game offerings have become a vacation tradition. And Gog.com has a few of them Kotaku‘s favorites from 2021, and past years, on sale until the new year.
Gog has over 3,500 Winter Sale deals on its website, but here are a few highlights to check out:
Psychonauts 2
This stunning sequel is a must-have for its superb combination of platform, combat, and storytelling. Psychonauts 2 manages the precarious balance of delivery of a touching and sometimes dark story it stays light-hearted and fun, and it never lets its gameplay get out of hand. Psychonauts 2 is available in Microsoft Game Pass, but for those without a subscription, you can pick it up for $ 38.99.
The door of death
So much is packed in Acid Nerve’s The door of death and it unfolds as you keep playing. The seemingly simple task and premise of the game becomes too much more complicated than you could imagine. The fight is both punitive and accessible. And the world is flawlessly built with an aesthetic and musical background that evokes an essence similar to what it used to be The legend of Zelda Games. It’s on sale for $ 14.99
sable
Finally a game with enough sand to rival Dune. Kotaku‘S Renata Price describes sable said: “The most beautiful game I’ve ever seen, great soundtrack, impeccable atmosphere, charming writing style, delicious sound design, unique animation style, phenomenal setting and a sense of adventure that I haven’t seen since Outer wildernessIt’s kudos to say the least, and you can find out if she’s right if you buy it for $ 18.74.
Encryption
Developer Daniel Mullins, who also made it Pony island and The Hex, could be described as M. Night Shyamalan’s Games. And if that’s not enough to at least spark your interest in his latest title Encryption, then I don’t know what will be. If you’re looking for a game with that extra something that many AAA titles lack, this could be a great game to add to your backlog. Or you could play it now while it’s on sale for $ 15.99
The Video Game History Foundation Support Pack
This mini pack contains classics Warhammer 40,000: Chaostor and Dark land, But with the purchase you not only get two more games for your collection. All proceeds from the package will go to the Video Game History Foundation, a nonprofit focused on reviving video game history. Game preservation is not a new topic, but it certainly was some losses in 2021 that showed how important it is. Server for the first three Small big planet Games have been disabled, Solid metal gear 2, 3, and 5 are not for sale, Grand Theft Auto V Online has been partially or completely removed in some form from the platforms that started it all – the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and a number of other games. Still, there are more games on offer at Gog. Some backlog favorites include The Witcher III, Fallout: New Vegas, and Horizon Zero Dawn. Have fun playing, you dirty animals.
