Sonic the Hedgehog, adaptation of Sega's famous big-screen interruption screen, has a good credit sequence to keep up with. Reconstructing the entire plot made in the 16-character art of the Genesis game, the sequence recreates Sonic in its original form and renders Jim Carrey's Rob Carnnik as a foe who has been killed. Oh, and there's a post credit situation you've ever seen come back from a prower.
(Vol. note: All other posts contain large containers for Sonic the Hedgehog.)
After sending Dr. Robotnik through a portal to the Moshroom Hill Zone, Sonic and pal Tom (James Marsden) return to their new life in Green Hills, Montana. Everything is painted! But after the credits roll out, we find another one, heading up to the top of the mountain. The portal opens again – surprise! – Tail of the Sonic & # 39; s, two-tailed fox. He comes out of the open ring as Marty McFly in the middle Back to the Future 2, running to find Sonic to save the day from … something. Looking around we saw a pack of Knuckles-echidnas chasing after Sonic at the beginning of the movie, and Robotnik (now looking at himself in his wacky canal in games) picks up the mold that needs to be ruled out by himself, a conspiracy Sonic the Hedgehog 2 viewed in full at a time Sonic the Hedgehog 1 you call it a day.
Miles "Tails" Prower has been a staple of the game since 1992 & # 39; s Sonic 2, and we became Sonic & # 39; s top-flight plan because of two fluffy tails that could fly like a helicopter. Sonic's movie keeps those powers strong for future use, but they do not spend much time launching tails as part of a larger universe. Anything seems possible in the movie world – Sonic grew up under the wing of a giant owl named after Key, after all – but one has to wonder how hedgehog and fox become poles in an unknown world when even echidnas are allowed.
Tails, ironically, has canonical backstory in Sonic games. As Al Nilsen, Director of Marketing at Sega of America, told Polygon, the character started out as an idea for Japanese developers, inspired by kitsune, the foxes of Japanese mythology. When Nilsen and his team caught the spirit of the young fox with two tails, it became clear that their sale to American audiences became obvious.
"We wanted to show you Sonic's closeness and that you were Sonic's friend," Nilsen said. "The look of the character was Tails of some sort that, & # 39; I want to be like Sonic. & # 39; Or & # 39; I'm a little kid. & # 39; You know, you can't go and now you do something for them off the screen. ”
There was one hangout: composer Yasushi Yamaguchi and the Japanese band actually wanted to name their new single "Miles Prower." The Sega of America team was having a hard time figuring out the poster.
"Although it was a good pill" miles per hour, "remembers Nilsen," it didn't sound like it be cool name. Or something that is easy to remember. ”
So Sega of America threw the Japanese party somewhere else: Tails. Because, you see, he had two tails. Developers never grow. So they went back and forth and back and forth, neither side convinced the other why their name was getting higher. The solution in the end was to use both. And to please all involved, Nilsen and his team wrote a complex history of Tails that would make his name complete.
As printed in full on Blake J. Harri & # 39; s Console Wars, here is "Miles Monotail Rename":
This is the story of Miles Monotail. The miles are your average four-year-old fox. He liked to play with his friends, but his friends were not really his friends. Every time they saw Miles, they were laughing and making fun of him. Why? Hey, Miles isn't like all the other foxes. Miles Monotail had two tails. And as kids often do when someone is different, they make fun of him. It didn't help that sometimes Miles passed through his second tail and back down the hill. the encounter was not one of Miles' qualities. Because of the difficult time his friends gave him, Miles became very depressed.
One day he was walking with his head hanging down when a riot broke out. There is only one person who can move quickly, and that is Sonic the Hedgehog. Miles thought Sonic was the greatest man in the world. Miles wishes she could be as cool and organized as Sonic. And, most of all, he wanted to meet Sonic. This was his big opportunity. Miles took a deep breath, and at the top of his lungs he shouted, "SONIC!" Sonic's obsession turned to Miles. "You called?" said Sonic.
"Oh Sonic, you're my hero," shouted Miles as he ran around Sonic. Well, you can guess what happens next – Miles stumbled on his second tail and fell to the ground. Tears came to her eyes.
"Hey, get together brother. What's the matter?" said Sonic.
“Sonic, I want to be like you, but I'm a fool. I have two tails. "
Sonic came in to Miles and said graciously, “You don't move. You are more special than anyone because you have something that everyone does not have. And you can do things they can't do. If anything, your friends should be jealous of you. ”
“But I can't do anything,” Miles cried.
“Yes you can,” Sonic said. "I'll show you. You are about to enter Sonic's special training camp."
Well, Miles can't be happy. His hero took him under his wing and began to teach Miles how to use his two tails to his advantage. He showed Miles how to put his tails down on his body so that he could be like an aerodynamic ball and he could make the famous Sonic Spin. Sonic then taught Miles how to use his two tails as a helicopter so Miles could fly around. Even Sonic couldn't do that. Apparently, Miles was happy. He was special, and when his friends saw what Miles could do and what they couldn't do, they became very jealous, but also each of them wanted to be Miles' best friend. But Miles had a new best friend. Someone who believed in him. One who was his hero. And that friend was Sonic. Sonic was happy that he could help his friend gain confidence and new skills.
Look, Miles, you're special because you have two tails. And for this, I will give you a very special nickname. From now on, I will call you tails because you should always be reminded that you are special because you have two tails. ”
So from that day on, Miles Monotail became known as Tails.
Nilsen says Miles "tails" Prower was as famous as Sonic after he was interned Sonic the Hedgehog 2 – and they knew it because of 1-800-USA-SEGA. “(In the market,) most of the feedback we received was from the Sega 800 line,” he said. "The game counselors, they would hear things and if something went wrong or something didn't work out, they would be the first to go and tell us." They could only hear the praise, so what was left was history.
Tails will go as a playable character in Sonic's games, finding his own way Tails Adventure, appeared in the Sonic comic book and two Sonic cartoons appearing in the & # 39; 90s, then appearing in all the other recent publications Sonic Mania. Now we find the best drop in flight inside Sonic the Hedgehog. But one question remains: what will his name be in the movie lore?
