Astro Botthe second full-fledged title featuring the de facto PlayStation mascot, will be released on September 6th. To celebrate the occasion, PlayStation launches a limited edition DualSense controller modeled after the blue-eyed bot. Pre-orders for the $79.99 controller will open August 8th and can be reserved at PlayStation and other select retailers ahead of its September 6th launch.
The custom controller features blue accents on the grips and buttons, as well as some additional etched sci-fi accents on the grips and around the analog sticks. The most noticeable change, however, is the addition of a pair of blue eyes in the center of the touchpad. While the eyes unfortunately can’t change their expression depending on how the game is going, their presence still lends a strangely emotive quality to the otherwise lifeless peripheral.
In addition to its new design, the limited edition controller includes the same features as the standard DualSense controller, such as motion controls, haptic feedback that can recreate textures in certain environments, and adaptive triggers to simulate tension and resistance.
The new controller is not available for pre-order yet, but we will update this page as soon as that changes.
