This month you can’t go online without stumbling upon something Warhammer 40,000-related, thanks to the immense popularity of developer Saber Interactive Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. It is an absolute achievement in terms of entertainment, with exciting horde mechanicsenticing three-player co-op play and decent PvP on the side to satisfy the purely competitive crowd.
Is it the perfect video game? Definitely not. But there’s a lot to love about this game, and it’s the kind of game where you can round up a group on the weekend and have a few unforgettable rounds of Tyranid-smashing fun. But hey, you can play the whole game solo if you don’t have any friends willing to pull out their chainswords with you! (That might sound like a euphemism, but it’s not.)
Despite the praise, there were some players, as you can see from the few negative reviews below, who encountered bugs and glitches, or simply felt that the game wasn’t worth the time or money given the short campaign. Others, however, yearn for more from the gritty world, and this is their stepping stone to greatness.
We have loved this game for some time, even before it was a Lightning rod species in video game discourse. If you are curious how Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 after the market launch, here is a look at the Candidate for Game of the Yearas shown by Steam reviews.
