It was not that a long time ago that Hwang Dong-hyuk did not appear for more Squid game, telling diversity, “It’s pretty exhausting just to think about it.” Then the show exploded around the world, becoming Netflix’s most watched show. The creator soon warm got the idea to do a second season. Now Hwang says he’s even in talks for a third party.
“I’m in talks with Netflix about season 2 and season 3,” Hwang told Korean broadcaster KBS (via The Korea Times
“We are aware that everyone is waiting [for the next season to come out] So we’re all trying to think positively about creating next season, ”added Hwang (via Korea JoongAng Daily).
This is the first time Hwang mentions a possible third season. I wonder if the inevitable video game, Hollywood remake, and comic book adaptations are also in the pipeline?
Previously, Hwang had spoken about the second season and gave some more details on what to expectct. Check out more below
The first season ended with Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, standing in line to board a plane to see his daughter, but then turned around. That apparently isn’t the last we’ll see of the character.
“It’s in my head right now,” said Hwang AP in November, added that he is currently in the planning process. “But I think it’s too early to say when and how this will happen.”
“So I promise you that… Gi-hun will be back. He will do something for the world. “
What exactly? Well, Hwang is getting a little more specific now. “It will be about Seong Gi-hun,” he recently told KBS (via Korea JoongAng Daily
And do something for the world.
Hwang reported back in October The times that the police nook was something he may want to explore further in season two.
I think the problem with cops is not unique to Korea. I see on the worldwide news that the police are very late in reacting – there are more victims or a situation is getting worse because they are not acting quickly enough. This was a topic that I wanted to address. Maybe I can talk more about it in season two.
So haHow long before the fourth season is discussed?
