Stardew Valley is the game that just passes on. It has received more than enough generous updates since its release in 2016. However, there are still little things here and there that could be improved. Thanks to a Mod by ShekurikaOne part of the game is now a little easier to play: fishing. Using it, you can see the fish underwater.
Usually in Stardew Valley, you throw your line on the empty slate of open water. In contrast to similar games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, You see no fish shadow or even a disturbance on the water surface. Often times, you have to cast your bait in a few places before you can get a bite. This mod changes the game so you can see all the sprites of the fish spawn in the water. That way, when you’re looking for a particular fish to complete your collection or complete a recipe, you’ll know exactly where to put your bait.
It’s a thoughtful adaptation since the fishing is in Star dew can be a bit tricky. The rod is a little picky and you will lose fish if you are not careful. It’s probably one of the hardest skills in the game to learn. This mod will reduce the grind and help you catch what you need even if you are not the most experienced angler.
The mod also adds some bonus configuration options. If you want, you can adjust how many fish appear on the map to create more fish. You can also toggle an option so that the player can also see the other “fishable” items in the game – like a rusty spoon and a spur.
The mod is currently being published on Nexus Mods – and due to a recent policy change on the website, this and all other mods will be permanently stored online. So if this seems like a feature you’d like, now you have all the time in the world to grab it.
