Steamed Hams But Now is a free to play PC adventure game

‘ was first broadcast in 1996 as the 21st episode of the seventh season of The Simpsons. It’s a great episode with some classic moments and jokes. But a segment featuring Principal Skinner and Superintendent Chalmers has become popular meme fodder for at least the past few years. In the segment, Skinner invites Chalmers to lunch

, ruins the meal and sneaks over to Krusty Burger for some food to pass off as his own. What follows is an absurd conversation—with Skinner trying to convince Chalmers of this in upstate New York People call burgers “steamed hams”—is one of the goofiest moments these two characters shares at this point in the course of the show.

Now, in 2022, Developer NeoDement has gone and recreated the whole skinnyg as a playable adventure game, complete with the well-known graphics and user interface of classic adventure games the era. You can download it for free from GameJolt.

Bill Oakley, one of them The simpsons Authors behind the segment that spawned Steamed Hams shared the game on Twitter with a simple, “OH MY GOD” answer. So he seems to be digging it, at least.

Last year, Oakley actually talked about an odd quirk in this episode. In the Steamed Ham segment, Chalmers says he needs directions to get to Skinner’s house. This seemingly contradicts an earlier episode this season where we see Chalmers taking Skinner’s mom home after a date. Oakley had never thought about it and declares to The AV Club that the line was added by Greg Daniels who helped put the big episode together.
