In many ways, Starblade is great. The action is great, the soundtrack is great, the world is great. However, if you pull back the curtain a little and look behind all the glitz and style, you’ll find that Shift Up’s character action gameplay can also be pretty boring. It’s a game of dichotomies, one that’s beautiful yet shallow, entertaining yet frustrating, expansive yet superficial. There’s a lot to love Starblade, but there are also a lot of things to dislike, and after about 30 hours of mucking around as Eve, I left the game wishing it was more refined in some ways and more challenging in others. – Levi Winslow Read more
