The Talus is a recurring monster in the Legend of Zelda series and Tears of the Kingdom bring them back into fashion. Whether it’s the Battle Talus with his Bokoblin friends or the simple but deadly one stone talusthese enemies pack a punch.
Once you’ve defeated one of these titans, you might think you can step in and do the same for everyone, but there are subtle differences that you should be aware of. For example, the stone talus can kill you if you knock it down.
Additionally, the stone talus has an annoying habit of trying to be a basarios and burrowing into the ground, ready to meet unexpected heroes of Hyrule.
Where to find the stone talus in Tears of the Kingdom?
The first stone talus You will likely come across the cave in the Crenel Hill cave. This is directly north of the Battle Talus, which you can find on Orstedd Bridge, but is a bit more difficult.

How to defeat the stone talus in Tears of the Kingdom
As with the other talus, a bow and a few good arrows are essential to your success. We’ve tried bombs and all sorts of throwables, but that path quickly leads to game over. Make sure you have an adequate supply of arrows before going inside.
Do a rapid rush at the start and jump onto the Talus’ head when it wakes up.
This is a great way to get the first damage out of this boss. With a one-handed weapon equipped, you have time for exactly 12 hits before having to run and slide off its back. If you hold onto it, it will throw you off its back and take away a Quarter Heart. This may not seem like much, but it is important when you have five hearts or fewer.
Sprint away, making sure to dodge the projectile it fires at you. Then turn around and shoot the glowing blue rock on his back. Brace yourself for another insane rush, but be careful because if he hits the ground (then he’s ready for you to climb to the top), the impact of his head hitting you if you’re with jump the weapon, destroy more than four of your hearts if you are wearing low level armor.
Sprint, jump and climb on the head again. This talus gets up quicker than its cousin Battle Talus – if you’re familiar with this fight – so make sure you’re quick. Again, you have time for 12 hits.
Repeat this once or twice more, depending on your weapon, before another weapon dies.
How to use the glowstone talus heart
Along with a whole lot of gems (Glowing Stone, Amber, rubyAnd opal), the stone talus drops a Talus heart of glowing stone. How Flux construct 1 core and the Stone Talus Heart, you can’t pick that up – you can attach it to a weapon to give it a massive damage boost.
Simply put, equip a weapon that hasn’t already been fused (we used a Zonaite sword), use the Fusion ability and create one Talus hammer of glowing stone. Attack power increased from 6 to 21, which is a whopping increase +21 Attack.
This is huge, and considering it’s going to knock some poor, clueless Bokoblin out with it, it really puts a whole new twist on the phrase “kill her with love”…
Note: you can fuse the Talus Heart to your shield, but it won’t give you any stats, making it a waste of an extremely rare item.
