Adriana Chechik, the made headlines earlier this month after breaking her back in two places at TwitchConShe’s returned with some updates – and a close look – at how her recovery has been going.
In case you haven’t seen the incident, Chechik broke her back at TwitchCon after jumping into a foam pit, a seemingly harmless move that led to her thanks to the pit’s reported shallowness smashed her tailbone so hard on the ground that her “bones were completely crushed,” fused multiple vertebrae, and suffered “nerve damage.” [her] Bladder”.
Her recovery process was Rough. Here’s what she wrote on October 13 after a physical therapy session:
I tried to sit up in PT today, I’d rather die than do that again. I hate this, my whole body hates it. I don’t want to be harsh. I don’t want to be brave I cried for an hour and the pain is so immense from all the meds I’m on. Idk if I can do that. I can’t explain this pain.
Chechik, who is now home after multiple surgeries – one that lasted over five hours – returned to Twitch over the weekend to provide further updates on the injury, its aftermath and how she is weeks after the accident.
In this clip, Chechik mentions how even the simplest of daily tasks still leaves her out of breath, before revealing a huge scar running down the middle of her back:

Later, while playing, she says that tests done on her at the hospital revealed that she was unknowingly pregnant at the time of the injury, but then lost the baby due to the surgery required on her spine:
