A new trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie released on Tuesday, giving Nintendo fans a more robust look at the animated adaptation of Mario and Luigi’s Mushroom Kingdom adventures. After last month’s teasing of Mario, Bowser, Toad, Luigi and an army of penguins, Nintendo and Illumination’s new trailer reveals a lot more about the brothers’ adventure – and our first look at Princess Peach and Donkey Kong.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘s second trailer features an outsized dose of fanservice, including Chris Pratt – the voice of Mario – giving us a “Let’s go” and a “Wahoo!” Mario wears a tanooki suit; Peach uses a Fire Flower. Mario, Peach, Luigi, Toad and the crew even embark on the trails of the Rainbow Road in a not-too-subtle salute to Mario Kart. Nintendo and Illumination go all out.

Nintendo and Illumination announced their 2021 animated Mario movie, and while most of the cast wowed fans, Pratt’s casting was met with relentless ridicule. In October, Nintendo fans got their first taste of Pratt’s version of Mario, which is… good. It’s good. He’s not Jack Black, but it’s… perfectly fine.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on April 7, 2023.
