You know, I have to admire the courage of Nintendo’s social media teams to post even a single tweet about Yona and Sidon surprise fiancé In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, I also doubt they were that shocked to see the fans, offended that she took Link’s friend from him, come in with good jokes.
The post itself is harmless enough. We’re still two months away Tears of the Kingdomso we can post about characters that are “spoilers” without legitimately getting angry at anyone. The tweet talks about her concerns about the mud issue in Zora’s domain during the game’s main quest. Of course, it also mentions that she is planning a wedding to Sidon, the sexy shark man who fans have been romantically involved with Link ever since breath of the wild in 2017.
If you weren’t incredibly online and interested zelda Fandom, you wouldn’t think anything of it. Also, if you are that person, you would be pretty confused if you scrolled down to the comments and saw the good jokes people are making about the situation. But you could probably imagine that Nintendo has only just launched Sidon’s new Bae and the envious Link and Sidon mailers are calling for blood in the comments. But still, you get the sense that everyone caught up with the joke and knew that this was inevitably the community’s reaction to Yona. typically, hopefully
Honestly, as much as it pains me to admit, my Sidon/Link ship is mostly a gag at this point because after the end of Tears of the Kingdomi’m like that, like that, like that Link and Zelda are now training together it’s not even funny. Perhaps one day my remaining Sidon/Link ship brothers can find a similar peace, knowing that even if Sidon does marry Yona, the statue of Link riding Sidon and standing in Zora’s domain will not survive.
