Another day, another way to duplicate some of the rarest items In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. But wait, there’s more good news. This latest infinite item exploit is even quicker and easier than the others. Give me a minute of your time and I’ll give you all the diamonds to wear.
Updated 05/25/2023 9:53pm ET: Nintendo released Patch 1.1.2
The original story follows.
The latest method was shared on the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit over the weekend (Thanks Eurogamer) and revolves around paragliding. You just grab some air and then keep messing around with the inventory screen as duplicates of all your valuable materials fall to the ground below you. Unlike the previous bug, which required very precise timing, this bug lets you be as sloppy as you want. I tested it this morning and had a 100 percent success rate. Here are the steps:
Make sure the item you want to copy is in the last slot on your inventory screen
- Climb up something
- Jump off and pull out your umbrella
- Press Start to reopen the item menu
- Choose an item that you only have one of
- Then select the one in the last slot that you want to copy
- Press Start twice
- Rinse and repeat the process until you touch the bottom
The beauty of this version of the infinite item glitch is you You don’t have to worry about how fast you press the start button
Update 05/23/2023 10:01 am ET: Turns out there’s now an even easier way to perform this trick. Just start paragliding, select any item from your materials list, hold as many as you can, then press Y and B at the same time. The menu will sort and close at the same time, deleting duplicates of the item, while your inventory remains unchanged. You no longer have to have the item in the last slot or mess around with a second one.
And if you’re really adventurous, you can even do it While in the air, pull out your shield to surf (if you don’t already have a paraglider or aren’t somewhere where you can fly high).
The only thing to keep in mind is that the items will fall to the ground. Do this while you’re too high up and it might be difficult to find where they fell on the ground. And if you do it with bombs or other breakable items, they will shatter/explode. “Before anyone tries that, a word of warning: Bomb Flowers don’t work that well, I just blew myself up with about 20 bombs!” wrote a player in the subreddit.
So far, none of the item glitches discovered by players have been removed from the game by Nintendo, but that may not last long. The breath of the wild Consequence got its first minor post-launch update last week, and will probably get another one soon. So slide away.
